Think you’ve got nerves of steel and nothing can freak you out? That just means you haven’t played Don’t Scream! As evident from its name, this is a game that will challenge your ability to keep a cool head and fight oncoming panic. See if you can survive in the creepy night forest full of monstrous creatures ready to pounce at you should you give out the faintest scream!

Can you survive in the night woods?

What’s this horrifying place? You’re in Pineview Forest, a god-forsaken piece of wilderness where trees whisper enigmatically, shadows rustle in the thicket, and the only thing illuminating your path is the treacherous moonlight. You’re all alone here, and it seems you’ve lost your way. There’s nobody you can call for help, you’ve got no map, you forgot your flashlight at home. Staying overnight is not an option, cause it’s getting colder every minute, and you can feel the bone-chilling breath of paranoia washing all over your terrified mind. What are you gonna do? There is just one thing left – walk ahead, and try not to scream!

Don’t Scream gameplay

  • The game lasts a total of 18 minutes. And those only count when you’re on the move. You won’t be able to just sit it out in a safe place!
  • You’re stranded in the eerie woods called Pineview Forest that seems to be alive and menacing. Who knows what’s waiting for you here! You’d better stay extra careful.
  • Until the time runs out, you’ll be wandering around, peeping through the night, and trying to steer clear of monsters lurking in the shadows.
  • Don’t scream! If you do, you’ll attract those ghostly critters, and then you’re doomed!
  • Think it’s just a game? Not this time! The monsters will hear screams through the microphone. That thin partition of a screen won’t save you!

A horror about… well, horror!

Don’t Scream has no story, no particular character, and no end goal. Except just one – keep it cool as long as you can. One scream is enough to send you right back where you set off, and you’ll have to make your way through this nightmare of a forest all over again. And if you hope you can get used to it after a few failed attempts – well, that’s unlikely! The game finds new and new ways to throw you off and snatch that fatal scream out of your lungs. It’s gonna be quite tough to keep your panic packed up inside! Basically, it’s a fear simulator, a pure essence of horror. And if you’re out for adrenaline and suspense, you just can’t miss it!

Innovative microphone mechanics

It’s not anything new for horror games to use microphone. After all, some of them are supposed to be played in teams, and you have to communicate with your mates somehow while your hands are busy with a stake or spectral scanner. But in Don’t Scream, It’s not just about agreeing on who plays bait to the vampire and who draws a pentagram – it’s about mastering the art of silence. Here’s what’s in store:

🎙️ Microphone magic: You’ll need to fine-tune your in-game microphone. It’s not just adjusting a device setting – it’s your lifeline. Any yelp, whimper, or moan that gets caught by the mic counts as a scream, and that’ll hit the reset button on your game! Remember – you’re being listened to. And heard!

🔊 Volume vigilance: Only screams count, so don’t be afraid to breath a little too loud or squeak your chair for that matter. And sure, you can chat during the game, but don’t crank up the volume to a rock concert level. Keep your voice a tad softer than your usual decibels. Go overboard, and you’re in for a game over!

👻 Play it fair: While you could skip the microphone calibration and let loose with your vocal cords during terrifying moments, that’s like digging into dessert before your main course. That’s a no-go if you consider yourself to be a true horror fan! What would that monster under your bed say about it? For the full horror experience, play by the rules set by the devs!

Different jumpscares every time

Since Don’t Scream doesn’t oblige you to follow some kind of a storyline, and the forest is a dynamic setting that keeps changing through the night, the jumpscares are always unique and different for every brave soul. That means, you won’t hit the same sequence of terrifying sights and sounds twice. And if you recommend this game to one of your pals or someone from your family (just don’t suggest it to your little siblings, or you’re in for plenty of diaper changes!), their experience won’t be the same as yours either. And that also means that, no matter how many times you’ve already played Don’t Scream, you won’t get bored or tired of it. And you surely won’t start screaming less!

Don’t Scream features

  • Eerie and realistic nighttime environment
  • First-person view for deeper immersion and louder screams
  • Intuitive controls and minimum of menu options
  • Randomly generated jumpscares for higher replayability
  • Game session countdown to keep track of your progress

The ultimate self-composure test

In Don’t Scream, there is only one way to survive – to keep your vocal cords in check no matter what you see or hear. It’s the ultimate test of your ability to keep it together and keep your head clear in any situation, even as frightening as this. So, are you ready to embark on this vocal adventure and show your mettle in a game that’s as eerie as it is absolutely nuts? Don’t Scream is here to test your nerves and scare you out of your mind. Grab that microphone, and let the silent screaming (or rather, not screaming) madness begin!
